Summer Splash
July 26th and 27th, 2024

2024 sign ups will be available approximately 1 month before events.

Where:  Creve Coeur Lake – Tremayne Shelter.  Please note, after many years at the Taco Bell Shelter, we have moved to the other side of the lake.  Bigger pavilion, better bathrooms, lots more parking, not crossing the walking path.  This is on the north side of the lake.  Directions: I-70 West/East to I-270 south to Dorsett Road OR I-64/Hwy-40 West/East to I-270 north to Dorsett Road west.  Head about two miles until Dorsett ends at the light.  Make a right onto Marine road, head down the winding road and CONTINUE past where we use to be and you will follow the lake.  After about 1/2 mile following the lake turn left into the first parking lot.  We will be at the shelter on the water.  For Google Maps click here.

Unique at this venue:

  • Ski boats will be used to pull skiers, jet skies will be used for safety (chase) boats
  • A pontoon boat will not be available. Boat rides will be done on the ski boats.
  • Flush toilets available close.
  • Random spectators as the general public has access to the park and we often get local media in attendance!
  • Saturday we will have hot food truck for lunch.

We Provide: MDWSA provides all of the adaptive equipment and life jackets for those who need it. We require, and will provide, life jackets for the volunteers who are working in or on the water.

Please, stay at home if you are experiencing any Covid symptoms or, in the past 14 days, have traveled internationally, have traveled to a highly impacted area, have been exposed to the virus or have been diagnosed with Covid 19. If you begin to experience symptoms once you are at the event, please leave the event premises immediately.

Thank you Saint Louis County Parks!

Sponsorships

Interested in being a sponsor? At each of our ski clinics, we incur many costs, including (but not limited to): boat gas, ADA portable toilet and hand-wash basin rental, park rental fees, park ranger fees, insurance through USA Water Ski & Wake Sports, portable radios, food and drink (non-alcoholic) and t-shirts.

Volunteers

We need LOTS of volunteers. Volunteering at Summer Splash is rewarding for everyone! Ask yourself if you are an experienced boat driver or water craft operator, water person, dry land person, paper work person, equipment person, food prep person, love to take pictures or maybe you just like to make new friends. If you answered “yes” to any of these, then we have a job for YOU! No matter what your skill level is… or isn’t, we will find you something to do.

For first year volunteers that plan on working in any of the ski boats, as water starters, on chase boats, as dry land instructors or as shore help, it’s expected that you come on Friday for training. We will have experienced skiers at the lake on Friday to assist our volunteers in their training.

Participants

Of course, without you we wouldn’t be here. All disabilities are welcomed. If you have the desire, we will make it happen. We have plenty of adaptive water ski equipment to ensure that you have an amazing experience. It doesn’t matter if you have never skied or if you are ready for the Paralympics or Special Olympics, we have the equipment you need! If you are not comfortable with the thought of skiing, or just don’t want to ski, that’s ok! Participants can also go on an inner tube ride or a boat ride.
