Volunteers

Without you we couldn’t do these events!

So you want to volunteer? Fantastic! First of all, thank you for your time and talent. Without you, we could not provide this opportunity to our skiers. It will be an awesome day and a life changing experience!

We have listed the positions we have available below. Please, read the descriptions and see what most fits you.Ā  If you donā€™t have experience, donā€™t worry, training will be provided to everyoneĀ on the day of the clinics.Ā  Once you find a job that interest you, just sign-up below.Ā  If you have any questions, simply click the ā€œcontact usā€ button. If you register for a job and then find that you canā€™t come and need to cancel, please let us know as soon as you can so we can refill your spot with another volunteer.

Boat Drivers with boats

We need boat drivers with ski or tube pulling experience; some training can be provided on the adapted water ski methods. For LSL Days boat drivers, your boat MUST be registered with Lake St. Louis and have a valid LSL sticker.
Jet Skies with Drivers: For Summer Splash we will need jet skies.
Pontoon boat for boat rides at LSL Days only; your boat MUST be registered with Lake St. Louis and have a valid LSL sticker.

Pin Puller, Spotter and Rope Handler (experienced)

Experienced boat personnel are needed to pull the pin, spot skiers and handle the ropes.Ā  A “jumper” from the “Wet Short Assistance and Boat Jumpers” group will also ride in the boat to assist and jump into the water if needed.

Dry Fitting and Instruction, Equipment Marshals

This group of volunteers will assist instructors with fitting skiers and teaching them basics of ski skills and hand signals on dry land. Volunteers will be trained on using and transporting equipment and possibly helping skiers transfer in and out of equipment on land.

Food & Beverage / Registration

This group of volunteers will be first to arrive, but also the first to leave.Ā  They will handle the registration of all participants and volunteers on arrival, assist filing the ice chests full of drinks and ice, during lunch will assist in putting out the food and cleaning up afterwards.Ā  City of Creve Coeur will no longer allow us to cook on site.Ā  We will still need to put the food out and clean up afterwards.

Photography (stills & video)

We need volunteers to take pictures and videos on shore as well as in boats so we can help create positive memories for our skiers and their families. Professional status is NOT required ā€“ anyone with a camera will do!Ā  We do ask for the memory cards for stills after the event is over or a creation of a video.

Wet Shore Assistance and Boat Jumpers

This group of volunteers will be in the shallow water and will receive training for this role before the event starts, so experience is not necessary. You will be required to wear a life jacket which will be provided or you can bring your own.Ā  This is our largest group of volunteers and is often our younger volunteers and those that are younger at heart.Ā  You may be riding on the back of a jet ski, in a ski boat, on shore helping start skiers, and/or in deep water helping start skiers.Ā  This group will do it all!

Volunteer Training

All volunteers will attend volunteer training at 7:30 AM on the day of the event.Ā  As you can see, we have a wide variety of opportunities for you to volunteer all while having a great time, making new friends and helping others.Ā  Even though you sign up for a specific job, we will move people around depending on the number of volunteers and what is needed.
